Data Center Networking

Interamerican, as part of its ongoing investments in new technologies in order to provide high quality services to its customers, has upgraded its Data Center networking equipment.

Algosystems undertook the design, supply and installation of the solution based on 4 Cisco Nexus Series Switches.

To ensure uninterrupted operation of Metropolitan Hospital, Algosystems designed and implemented the modernization of its network infrastructure using Cisco switches equipment.

The new technology infrastructure provided Metropolitan with added security, speed and reliability to upgrade services provided by its staff.

Olympia Odos, one of the most important national projects of strategic importance for the development of the Peloponnese, Western Greece and Epirus, as part of its move to new premises, proceeded with the implementation of a new Data Center in its new building, to house its new and existing network, computing and storage infrastructure.

As an optimal solution for the implementation of the new infrastructure, the selected solution of a pair of Nexus 56XX as central switches and many smaller Cisco switches, to link the users of the new building and the general campus.

The Nexus infrastructure, among other things, provides the Data Center interface with the customer’s new optical ring, which runs across Olympia Odos.

Attiki Odos, one of Europe’s largest co-funded road projects, in the context of the expansion and modernization of its central Data Center, has decided to completely redesign it and install new networking equipment. The new equipment should serve Collapsed Core needs with Distribution functionality, ensure the interconnection of all servers with 10G and 1G connections and be connected to the existing SAN based on Brocade FC switches, with SAN control and configuration now executed by the new infrastructure. Finally, there should be full FCoE support to all servers.

For this purpose, Algosystems used a pair of Nexus 56XX to implement a VPC cluster, plus 2 Fabric Extenders as Top of Rack switches to interconnect all UTP server interfaces.

Since Attiki Odos environment is fully productive, real-time (transactional) and with high availability requirements (CCTV), the transition process was designed based on these requirements.

Finally, a Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) management tool was installed to control Nexus for the network part.

The design and implementation of the new Data Center Networking infrastructure was done using Unified Computing architecture, providing high performance, flexibility and functionality so that the educational organization responds successfully to its modern educational needs.
