Moreas Motorway
Moreas motorway is the most important transport infrastructure in the Peloponnese region. It is a 205km motorway that connects the city of Corinth to the northeast of the Peloponnese with the city of Kalamata in the southwest. It consists of 5 tunnels and 3 cut-and-covers, 2 lanes per direction with central parapet wall and 25 interchanges. The motorway was constructed by the Moreas Consortium consisting of Aktor SA – J & P AVAX-INTRAKAT, and HALCROW and AECOM as consultants.
To implement this project, Algosystems undertook the study, design, installation and commissioning of the following:
- Integration of open road SCADA and tunnel subsystems in 8 twin tunnels with a total length of 14km.
- Street lighting and irrigation control systems
- Optical fiber network and active network elements in 16 interchanges.
- Two local control centers integrated into a Central Traffic Control Center
