Al Wakrah παρακαμπτήριος αυτοκινητόδρομος, Κατάρ
Al Wakrah bypass motorway is in the south-west of Doha city and serves multiple functions. It manages the bypass of Al Wakrah city and connects Mesaieed Industrial City, New Doha Port and the airport. It also gives access to the secondary network as well as uninterrupted traffic flow from the city of Doha to the southern suburbs.
Algosystems Qatar undertook the design and construction of the new 15km bypass, five interchanges (IC10, IC11, IC11A, IC11B and IC12) and two tunnels between IC11A and IC11 (of 400m and 100m length) as shown in diagram 1 below.
In particular IC11A will be a signaled interchanges. The Intelligent Transportation Systems network will be capable of meeting the needs of the network, from crossing controllers to the Traffic management center for Urban Traffic Control.

The successful deployment and operation of Intelligent Transport Systems plays an important role in meeting all of the motorway’s operational specifications. Specifications, as shown below, are defined by the Public Authority and Bodies, and follow international standards:
- Road safety
- Increased mobility / Reduction of transportation times
- Reduction of rapid response times / Improvement of incident detection
- Environmental policy
- Traffic information in real time
