Olympia Odos

Olympia Odos, also referred to as Motorway 8, is a major National motorway linking Athens with Patras in south-western Greece, with a total length of 215km. It is partially under construction. The Athens-Corinth section of the road has been completed. It has 3 lanes per direction plus emergency lane and 5 tunnels.

Algosystems solution included the study, design, installation and commissioning of the following:

  • Integration of open road SCADA and tunnel subsystems in 5 twin tunnels with a total length of 5km.
  • Advanced Traffic Management System on 15km and 300+ electronic signposts
  • CCTV system with Auto Incident Detection system
  • One Main Traffic Control Center
